If you are an outdoor enthusiast, this 3-day, 2-night trek is perfect for you! It offers breathtaking views – the landscapes will blow your mind, not to mention the abundant wildlife you'll spot along the way. With some luck, you might even spot condors!   • In private transportation from La Paz, cross the highlands to the foothills of the Andes near Tuni Lagoon to La Rinconada (3 hours).
  • Here, your trek begins up to the mountain range's base, continuing uphill, crossing the first lagoon to reach the Chiarkota Lagoon at 4,650 m.a.s.l./15,255 ft (1 hour).
  • Camp is set up here. Dinner is served at camp, where you'll spend the night in a provided tent.
  • *Includes: Tent accommodation, lunch, and dinner.
  • This will be a long trekking day. Ascend the first peak, descend into a forming valley, then climb to the second peak. Both summits are at 4,630 m.a.s.l./15,190 ft (3 hours).
  • Continue your trek towards the Pampa León canyon and river, reaching the small Liviñosa Lagoon.
  • Head towards Ancohuma where you'll camp for the night at 3,800 m.a.s.l./12,467 ft (7 hours).
  • Dinner is served at camp, and you'll spend the night in your tent.
  • *Includes: Tent accommodation, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
  • Today's trek is shorter. Start with a half-hour walk to Botijlaca (3,550 m.a.s.l./11,646 ft), a small village home to one of the hydroelectric plants of the Zongo Valley.
  • From here, return to La Paz (3 hours).

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Midweight parka with lining.
  • Lightweight hat or woolen cap, rain poncho or rain suit. Midweight socks.
  • Short-sleeved cotton shirt or polo, woolen sweater, long pants, and hiking shoes.
  • Sleeping bag.
  • Sunglasses, sunscreen, flashlight with batteries.
