  • Your day will start with private transfers from Puno or La Paz to Copacabana; a quaint, delightful town on the shores of Lake Titicaca. During this 3.5-hour journey, you'll experience the best views of Lake Titicaca.
  • Upon your arrival in Copacabana, aside from touring this charming town, you'll also visit the church of the renowned Virgen Morena.
  • From here, you'll take a boat ride across Lake Titicaca to Isla del Sol. This trip will last about an hour before you arrive at Puerto Huacani, where you'll savor a typical highland lunch called Aptapi while enjoying the magnificent surroundings.
  • The journey continues by boat to the Pilkokaina port, where you'll visit the Pilkokaina Inca temple.
  • Your day will conclude with a final hike to Ecolodge La Estancia (about 1.5 hours), where dinner will be served, and you can behold the best sunset views over Lake Titicaca.

  • You'll want to start early this morning as you wouldn't want to miss the sunrise! It's genuinely a splendid sight.
  • After breakfast, you're set to begin a 30-minute hike through Yumani, visiting the Inca stairs and the Water of Eternal Youth.
  • Next, you'll take a boat trip north, visiting the famous Chincana ruins and the Sacred Rock.
  • The journey then continues to Moon Island and the Inca ruins of Iñak Uyu (1 hour).
  • You'll then return to Copacabana to take your private transport to La Paz (3.5 hours).
  • Upon reaching the city of El Alto, you'll take the cable car to La Paz. There's no better way to see this incredible city. The experience is genuinely breathtaking!
  • You'll end up at the Hotel Europa, where you'll stay for the night.

  • After a hearty breakfast, your day will start with a 4-hour tour of La Paz, situated in a valley at the foot of the Andes mountain range, at an altitude of 3,632 m.a.s.l./11,916 ft.
  • Street markets famed for their handicrafts, textiles, and witchcraft artifacts. This tour will also guide you through the city's colonial sections, like San Francisco Church, the Gold Museum, and Murillo Square.
  • You'll also visit the Killi Killi viewpoint and the open-air replica of Tiwanaku's semi-subterranean temple.
  • Next, as you slightly descend in altitude, you'll pass through the city's modern part heading to Moon Valley, visiting this extraordinary site where clay mountains take on breathtaking shapes due to erosion.
  • You'll then return to the Hotel Europa for the night.

  • After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Uyuni.
  • By 10 am, departing from Uyuni, you'll head to the vast salt flat. Along the way, you'll visit the Train Graveyard, housing remains of steam locomotives from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. You'll stop at Colchani, the best spot to observe salt extraction methods, then continue across the salt flats to Incahuasi Island. This island is a unique and isolated oasis inhabited by giant cacti up to 10 meters tall.
  • You'll have a picnic in the middle of the salt flats.
  • From here, you'll continue north to see the Pukara de Ayque mummies.
  • Lastly, you'll return to Colchani, to the Palacio de Sal hotel (made of salt), where you'll spend the night and dinner will be served.

  • After breakfast, you'll be transferred to the Uyuni airport for your return flight to La Paz.
  • Upon your arrival in La Paz, your tour will continue with a trip to the Tiwanaku ruins (a 1.5-hour journey) from La Paz (72 km/45 miles). Along the way, you'll behold the vast high plains and pass through Aymara communities, getting a glimpse of their way of life.
  • Upon reaching Tiwanaku, you'll learn historical facts such as: Tiwanaku dates back to 1,580 B.C. – 1,200 A.D. and was one of the most important pre-Inca civilizations, deemed the most advanced of its time.
  • The main sites you'll visit include the Kalasasaya temple, the Sun Gate, Ponce and Fraile monoliths, Akapana pyramid, and the semi-subterranean temple. Two local museums are also available for visits, showcasing the history of pottery, stone works, and cultural insights. Please note that no Tickets are required, as they're already included in the tour.
  • From here, you'll head back to La Paz and be dropped off at the Hotel Europa where you'll spend the night.

NOTE

  • To reach Ecolodge La Estancia, there's a gentle 90-minute hike. Luggage transport on the Isla del Sol to or from the hostel is done by donkeys, mules, or llamas. To prevent the animals from carrying unnecessary weight, we kindly ask you to only bring what you need for your stay on the Isla del Sol and leave any extra luggage with one of our representatives in Copacabana.
  • Museums in La Paz are closed on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, as well as on holidays and all day on Mondays.
  • During the rainy season (late November to late April), the Uyuni Salt Flats can flood, so the program may change.
  • We will confirm mentioned or similar hotels.

WHAT TO BRING:
